I have had this killer headache since Saturday afternoon. All I want is for my chiropractor to crack my neck and make it go away! It is really hard to concentrate and to focus on anything! So I scheduled an emergency appointment tomorrow morning, becuase no way do I want to feel like this in Phoenix all weekend. I don't know how people who regularly get migraines manage to get anything accomplished. No way. I just want to crawl into bed and not think anymore about anything. But no such luck. We are going out to dinner tonight with Mike's family, which is always fun.
Lauren picked out a dress she liked...the first one she tried on! How opposite from me! Click here to check out the dress. And she is thinking about this for a bridesmaid dress. In a burgandy color. I really like this dress, I'm just worried about it showing every little bulge. Situps galore for me I guess!
Fun times as always.

coffee shop etiquette
I'm sitting in the Dunn Bros in Eden Prairie. It is such a great little coffee shop, an old historic house with lots of rooms and cozy furniture. I think I'm the only person in here right now, except for the employees. When I first arrived however, I could not believe how loud it was. There were three guys having a super loud conversation (not inside voices at all!) and a young woman on her cell phone. The woman next to me actually left because it was so loud. Have we totally lost all respect for other people? Or have our parents not taught us how to behave in public? Conversations are totally fine, but when I can hear you all the way across the room without even really trying, then it is too loud!
Let's be respectful people, keep it to a dull roar.

"and the boys"
So Mike totally has a group of friends like this and I'm not sure if I do. I definetely do not have a core group of female friends...but I do have my "boys". So, I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with the part about female friends. What do you think? Read this post and then let me know!
That is a good segue to my theory on life. Not sure if I have written about it before, but here goes:
Boys are dumb, girls are mean.
True statement.

Heath Bar Dessert
one of my all time favorites that I can never remember where I put the recipe. now I'll know exactly where to find it!
Heath Bar Dessert
6 egg whites
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 pint whipping cream
2 - 8 oz bags of heath bits
Whip egg whites until foamyu. gradually add sugar (1 tbsp at a time). Beat until stiff (10-15 minutes). Line 2 13x9 pans with tin foil and put 1/2 of mixture in each pan. Spread smooth. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour. Cool.
Run spatula under meringue to remove. Place one back in the pan or on a large tray, trimming if necessary. Whip cream and fold in heath bits. Place 1/2 of filling on the first meringue. Place second meringue on top of this. Spread rest of filling on top. Refrigerate (covered) overnight. Enjoy!

a new year...
Well, I guess we are getting old. We rang in the new year by being sound asleep. After a great dinner with Mike's parents and Lauren and Jace, we came home to hang out and watch some TV. Mike was out by 10, so I woke him up at 10:55 and we did the countdown at 11 on mtv. Then we went to bed.
But, we do have an excuse!
Mike has been really sick since last year. He even stayed home on Tuesday, only the second time since we have been together that he has stayed home from work. So he had been sick, is now starting to feel better. I have been not sick...at least pretending to not be sick. Sleeping and orange juice has been our lives thus far this year. Not a bad way to start, I guess.
So do I have any resolutions? Not really. To be fit (not lost weight, but get healthy) is probably a goal of mine this year. As is to keep in better touch with my friends. And perhaps to go back to school...I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that yet!
Hope your new year has been very bright thus far!
